Gary J. Obermiller

Managing Director of GHPE

Gary was recruited by Goldner Hawn in 2004, to serve as the firm’s Operating Executive. In his current role, he evaluates prospective investment opportunities and works with the senior management teams of several Goldner Hawn portfolio companies to enhance operational performance.

His affiliation with the firm dates back to 1990 when he was hired as Vice President of Engineering for Deltak shortly after it was acquired by Goldner Hawn. Over the next 14 years with Deltak, Gary served in several senior management roles, including President and President and COO of Global Power Equipment Group, Deltak’s eventual parent company. During his career at Global Power, he served on the board of directors for both Global Power and Mark VII Equipment. Additional professional experience includes managerial positions with Graco, Inc. and Econo-Therm Energy Systems Corporation.

Gary currently serves on the boards of Goldner Hawn portfolio companies Union Metal Corporation, Allen Edmonds and Remmele Engineering.  He also is a board director for Peerless Industrial Group and ABP Induction, and is a member of the Dean's Advisory Board of the University of Minnesota's Institute of Technology. Gary holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas, and is a Licensed Professional Engineer.
