Darren joined Goldner Hawn in 2003 after working briefly with the firm as an analyst during its inaugural year in 1989. He now serves as a director of Goldner Hawn portfolio companies Vitality Foodservice, Houlihan’s Restaurants and Wilsons Leather.

He began his career at Piper Jaffray after graduating from Yale University and Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management. During his 11 years with Piper, Darren worked as a senior investment banker and group head for Consumer Investment Banking, driving hundreds of transactions in the areas of equity and debt financing, mergers and acquisitions and principal investing. In 2002, Darren took a sabbatical to found Acheson Capital, an advisory firm that assisted Goldner Hawn in the successful sale of its investment in VICORP Restaurants.

In addition to his professional board responsibilities, Darren currently serves on the executive board of the Nature Conservancy of Minnesota.
